Albert Woo MD

President

Albert Woo founded Boston Medical Data in 2015 with the goal of providing software solutions in the healthcare industry. Dr Woo has worked with numerous large healthcare systems such as Boston Medical Center, Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, Tufts Medicine, Cambridge Health Alliance, and Steward Medical Group which allowed him to gain insights into specific problems facing healthcare today. BMDS believes that software can help healthcare organizations and providers gain efficiency and decrease cost.

Albert is a physician with board certifications in both medical informatics and anesthesiology. He has more than 20 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing software solutions in the healthcare industry. He was the founder of Plexus Technology Group (now part of Veritas), a market-leading, best-of-breed provider of anesthesia information management systems (AIMS) that was deployed into over 1,000 hospital systems nationalwide and over two million surgical cases.

Albert was also the chief software architect for the Anesthesia Business Group CMS certified Quality Clinical Data Repository. It has served over 300 practices and over 18,000 providers and logged data for 18 million cases. ABG QCDR designs quality measures and provides benchmarking data for its participants.


DAN HIXENBAUGH
Sales & Marketing

Dan spent many years both leading and managing business development teams in the fields of healthcare technology and software. He had lengthy tenure at both very large U.S. based corporations like GE Healthcare, AT&T, and Carestream to small start-up companies that spur on innovation like Vocera, ATX, and TCG.

Nelson is one of the senior engineers and our development team lead. His roles involved leading development of features, advising and supporting our develop team members. Nelson graduated from MIT in 2012 and has worked in healthare IT for many years. He has expertise in interface standards such as HL7 & FHIR.

Rob Henry
Client Services

Rob is a seasoned client service executive who worked previously at Allscripts, and CPSI. He has led over 100 implementations in numerous health facilities such as HCA, Tenet, and Ambsurg. Rob received his MBA studies at the University of Alabama.

ROSS MUSUMECI, MD MBA
CLINICAL QUALITY ADVISOR

Dr Musumeci brings a vast amount of management experience to BMDS. He serves as the medical director for the Anesthesia Business Group Data Safety Group. He served as the vice chairman for network anesthesia for Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians. Prior to that, he served as the CEO for Anaesthesia Associates of Massachusetts, the largest private practice anesthesia group in the state of Massachusetts. He received his MBA from The Wharton School with an emphasis in finance.

CHRIS CONNOR, MD PHD
TECHNOLOGY ADVISOR

Dr. Connor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and a Research Associate Professor in Physiology & Biophysics at Boston University. Dr. Connor received his Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School and PhD in engineering from MIT. Dr Connor has made significant contributions in anesthesiology research. Chris holds patents for several technology and clinical products.

RUBEN J. AZOCAR, MD MHCM
CLINICAL OPERATIONS ADVISOR

We are honored to have the experience and knowledge of Dr. Azocar, who serves as an advisor for BMDS. Dr. Azocar's experience include VP of perioperative services for Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center, Chairman and Professor of Anesthesiology at Tufts Medical Center, Director of ICU at Boston Medical Center, Director of EICU at Steward Medical Group, and Anesthesiology Residency Director.

PETER LEE, MD MPH
INDUSTRY ADVISOR

Dr Lee brings a vast amount of industry experience to BMDS. Dr. Peter Lee currently serves as Global Medical Director of Amazon. In this capacity, Peter is responsible for defining the overall medical and health strategy for the global conglomerate. Prior to Amazon, Peter served as Chief Medical Officer for General Electric (GE). Peter also teaches as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. Peter has led medical advisory boards, provided clinical directorship, created technologies for sourcing health intelligence, and guided digital health startups.
